Graphic USA: An Alternative Guide to 25 US Cities is a book after my own heart. It’s written and illustrated by local designers in each of those cities. The pages are full of design-minded suggestions, from galleries and restaurants to hotels and night clubs. I love unconventional guidebooks, especially those that don’t lose their appeal when you’re not actually traveling or after a trip. I think the histories, anecdotes, and illustrations earn this guide a spot on a bookshelf or coffee table long after your planning has subsided.
