Double Takes: AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE BY MARC SHUR I want to live in a world where interstate highways and city roadsides are filled with signage like those pictured in Marc Shur’s Sign Language series. His photographs feature vintage signs that “have a history and they can tell a story that no Wal-Mart or Taco Bell sign can.” Many of today’s roadside advertisements are missing the character and diversified typography of those from decades ago. You can view his entire series on flickr and purchase prints on his website.
