Block Shop, an Indian textile company run by sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman, makes block-printed scarves with non-toxic vegetable dyes. The shop works with the Chhipa family of Bagru, India to produce their silk and cotton textiles. Wood block-printing has a long history in India, primarily in the desert state of Rajasthan, and the Chhipa family are masters of their craft.
I picked up a handful of these blocks while traveling in Rajasthan, India to give as gifts after returning home. If you’re interested in nabbing your own Indian wooden print blocks visit the lovely Harabu House.
