PlayMap is equal parts educational toy and map for blind children. The foam globe “communicates the abstract concepts of geography through a textured, transformable model of the earth.” It also unfolds into a flat map. PlayMap was the Student Runner-Up in this year’s Core77 Design Awards 2013. It was designed by Rhode Island School of Design students Daniel Chang, Maeve Jopson, Karan Mudgal and Cynthia Poon.
